Creative resistances. Islands or bases of operation for freedom?
“Commercial relationships produce a world of elusive representations where the spectacle takes the place of reality. The suppressive social relations are concealed , together with the prospect of a radically different society based on collective self management and self-determination. On the contrary, creative resistance consists of collective situations of re-appropriating life today in terms of solidarity”.
In reference to creative resistances
When talking of creative resistances we need to make clear that we are talking about resistance that doesn't solely engage in confrontation with the dominant institutions and structures, but instead explores new ways of collective action and existence in unfamiliar territories. We are refering to those day to day situations in which dominant culture loses its leading role, in which committed fighters choose not to follow the guided determination of themselves, but to autonomously act unmediated in creating an alternative world in their daily routines and not postpone change to a faraway future. We think of creative resistances as uncompetitive to other forms of resistance that could be of a more compative character, but on the contrary we think of creative resistances as additional components of the same battle as they can form different fronts facing different challenges and obstacles.
We are talking about actions and thoughts that upset regularity, with a starting point in partiality that articulate a different, non-totalitarian and often non-conclusive way. We are talking about collectives and open procedures where solidarity hand in hand with the lack of authoritarian and hierarchical relationships and direct participation are prerequisites for their operation.
From islands to bases of operation for freedom
While projects with staring point in partiality evolve , there is always the danger participants will perceive themselves isolated from a series of other social issues and will stand in self admiration of their ownachievements ???. at the same time growing pressure from their environment (the capitalist ocean) intensifies the risk of assimilation.
The true success of such projects demands the collective transformation of the whole world. The big bet of such projects is the call for their meeting, their interaction, their joint action and their dispersion into the social body. The formation of a new common ground, a new collective imperative . Because without conscious palnning in this direction there will only be rare meetings that will generate random and ephemeral situations between isolated individuals or groups, relieving them temporarily from the boredom of the spectacle. this quest for a collective imperative requires active participation in formulating comprehensive non totalitarian and uncompetitive strategies without external guidance or leadership (party- commander).
Their actions can become a beacon of hope for travellers who are blind to alternative routes and accept the status quo, They can also be a source of inspiration for new explorations of other places and experiences, astable reference point for the next steps to the world that is not yet here.
Creative resistance(s). Islands or bases of freedom?
“Commercial relationships produce a world of elusive/fraudulent representations where the spectacle takes the place of reality. The supressive social relations become hidden, as well as the prospect of a radically different society based to the collective self management and determination/organization. On the contrary, creative resistance consists of collective situations of reappropriating life today in terms of solidarity”.
Speaking/Talking about creative resistance
We refer to creative resistance to clarify that we are talking about the resistance that doesn't have as a field of engagement/confrontation the dominant institutions/structures, but explore in terra incognita new ways of collective doing/praxis and being/existence. We refer to those everyday life situations where the dominant culture loses its protagonistic/leading role, where the people of struggle choose not to … themselves, but to autonomously and without mediations act and construct another world in their daily lives and not in a imminent/faraway future/ a future to come. We talk about creative resistance not in a mood of conflict with the other/rest of resistance that have for example a demanding character, but of synthesis/composition as they can form different lines/ of the same struggle facing though different challanges and obstacles. We are talking about actions and thoughts that break the regularity, starting from the partial, articulating a different, non-totalitarian and often non-integrated way. We are talking about collectives and open assemblies/… where solidarity, the lack of power/oppresive/hierarchical relationships within them and the direct participation is prerequisite for their operation.
